Hello. Call me Woof. I am 45 years old, have two sons, one just three, the other almost two. They are my number one interest right now.
I am also an avid skiier, certified PADI Rescue Diver, and love to skate. I have been skating since the summer of 1975. This past year I picked up slalom, got involved in the local series, and have a "world ranking" of about 200th out of some 1000 guys who compete on a serious basis. Oh, and I own a little British car that I have restored, show, and drive during the warmer weather... I have other interests but these are the top long-term interests.
I have been quit of booze for a full 20 years as of this past August. I am well over it and do not have any desire to go back. I don't need nor will I ask for any help for myself. I do not mean that to sound arrogant... 20 years and I consider myself a recovering addict. The best thing for me frankly is to talk about it and help when and if I can.
So in a way I am here to remind you all that you can do this thing. It is a journey that is more than worth the effort. If I can help in any way, my door is always open. I'll be happy to recount my story if asked.
I'll stop by from time to time to see what's up. You all have my very best wishes.

PS: Also lost another addiction recently. I am on Day 807 (2 plus years) of quitting cigarettes. It has been an interesting journey. There were things I learned quitting the booze that I perhaps forgot. Quitting cigs reminded me. All of these things were very positive.

Welcome woof;
recoverig addict and ex-smoker too, as well as an addicted boarder.
It is amazing how many sober skaters there out there.
Again welcome and congrats on your times.
