After reading the information, I have seen from personal experience as an addict/alcoholic who suffers from bipolar disorder, that this is a very important and needed program. There are no registered meetings here in my State, so I have decided to start a meeting here locally. I have to work out the logistics like a meeting place etc. Wish me luck...

Good Luck!
Now to share a little bit of Experience Strength & Hope
I faced much the same problem you are facing in August 2002 when I started a DRA meeting in Orange County, Calif. - see the draonline schedule For Southern California - The "You're Not Alone" group.
But I can tell you that at the time it was launched I felt very much alone.
Starting meeting in other fellowships is infinately easier bcause you have inter-groups, areas, regions etc.
With DRA it is meet to World with nothing in between. Today (5 years later) we have an informal inter-group that links 14 meetings spread out in a 15 mile radius and recently linked in a stand alone meeting & H&O panel about 120 miles out.
If there is anything I can do help let me know by private email - also look for a private e-mail to you with a little more information.

Man am I a lousy touch typist - that would be Meeting to World and H&I not H & O.
It would probably help if I'd break down and get a keyboard that doesn't have the letters rubbed off the keys and that is free of sticky key syndrome (happens when there is more cigarette ash between the keys at any given moment, that there is in a nearby ashtry.)
